Some of the animals that ever lived were pretty gigantic and here are the biggest of them all:The largest known animal ever to existed, although it never walked the earth, is the Blue whale. The longest specimen of this astonishing beasts who by the way are an endangered species is a mind-blowing 33,58 meters (about 110 feet) long and it weighed 190 metric tons (210 short tons). These were truly admirable animals and were abundant in almost all of the oceans on Earth until the 20-

eth century when they were hunted down to extinctionby whalers. A 2002 report estimated there were 5000 to 12000 blue whales worldwide. The largest animal that still walks the earth is the African bush elephant who was weighed roughly around 12 tons(13 short tons) and is long about 7.5 meters. These elephants are characterized by their large heads, two large ears that cover their shoulders and radiate excess heat, two large tusks, a large, barrel-like body, four long and heavy legs, and a relatively short tail. Although this elephant is big it’s nothing compared to the dinosaurs that have lived millions of years ago. Almost all of the dinosaurs were unimaginably huge, for example the Sauropoda dinosaurs. These dinosaurs were plant eating and they were unbelievably huge! The tallest and heaviest sauropod known from a complete skeleton is the Giraffatitan which was discovered in Tanza

nia between 1907 and 1912 and is 12 meters (38 feet) tall, weighed between 30 to 60 metric tons (30-65 short tons) and it’s long 25 meters (82 feet).
Although there were larger sauropods, they are known for only a few bones. The larges
t one was discovered before 1971 and was weighed 80 to 100 tons (90-110 short tons) and was
called Argentinosaurus. This is just one kind of the many gigantic dinosaurs that have walked the earth. Another kind of really big dinosaurs are the Theropods. The longest and the heaviest theropod was the Spinosaurus. This dinosaur with the length of 16 to 18 meters (52-29 feet) and the weight of 7 to 9 tons (7.7-9.9 short tons) was the largest terrestrial predator known to exist. A big animal also from the dinosaur family is Ankylosaurus who is long up to 9 meters (30 feet). Also there were the Cerapods which were pretty large… The largest of them all was the Shantungosaurus, a late Cretaceous dinosaur found in the Shandong Peninsula of China, although it was a fragmentary remain it was estimated that he was
over 15 meters (50 feet) long and weighed over 23 tons.
